Incident Defusing

Involved Responders meet to discuss incident end of shift or immediately after.


Service Description

A Critical Event Defusing is a group session that is conducted generally within eight hours of the conclusion of a critical incident. The DEFUSING will be led by at least one Anoka County Peer Support Group team member and should generally attempt to maintain a ratio of 1:8 (one peer member to eight emergency service personnel). When requesting a Defusing, please note that a Defusing should never be conducted at the scene of the critical incident, but rather at a facility away from the scene. The maximum time for a defusing is 60 minutes.
